So Marlin had Don Meier went out to talk with the chairman of the board of Mutual, whose name was VJ Scott. And he had the astuteness to realize that there’s a connection between protecting your life from dangers through insurance, and also how animals are protecting themselves in the wild. So that was one of the reasons why the Mutual of Omaha picked up on sponsoring Wild Kingdom, and a Quaker Oats was out of the running.
