Well, I spent a time in the military in San Diego and it was a desirable place to go. I had the opportunity for a sabbatical leave, and I knew Chuck Sedgwick, who was at the San Diego zoo at that time. and also Lynn Greiner, who was a pathologist at the San Diego Zoo. And they had a research grant, a small research grant, that allowed me to come there. And so it was a kind of a mutual situation, I wanted to go there and I was given that opportunity. So I had a chance to really interrelate with the keepers, the keepers at that time at the San Diego Zoo, were a little bit unique because many of them were retired military people, they weren’t necessarily animal people.
