The old ape house at the Bronx Zoo, exhibited chimpanzees, orangutans, and gorillas, in a relatively small space. We wanted to give the animals a lot of space. We rarely bred animals in the old great ape house. I don’t think they ever bred any orangs or chimps, they did breed some gorillas.
